They are encountered in some levels of the [[Cave]] and the [[Forest (Donkey Kong Country Returns)|Forest]], and other dark levels. These purple [[bat]]-like creatures attack by flying straight forward, and can be defeated from either being [[jump]]ed on, small peanuts, or an object such as a [[barrel]] thrown at it. Some Squeeklys fly higher than others and are more difficult to attack. Squeeklys appear prominently in [[Crowded Cavern]], alongside [[Chū Komorin]] and a [[Big Squeekly]]. There is a specific formation where some small Squeeklys attack from the front, Chū Komorin that attack by flying up or down when they feel the Kongs approaching, and a Big Squeekly that chases them throughout the level, able to emit powerful sonic waves from its mouth to damage them. The smallest Squeeklys often appear in large groups. The Squeeklys cannot be defeated in any way, unlike with other levels.
