Spinning Flowers are red flowers that act as rotating platforms in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Spinning Flowers are found throughout the world, and are used to reach high places. When Mario jumps onto the flower, he will begin to spin in a clockwise direction. When he jumps off, he will be launched high and far in one direction. However, if Mario stands on a Spinning Flower too long, he will get dizzy and fall off.

In Paper Mario, purple Spinning Flowers appear on Lavalava Island. In this game, they have only petals, with no "base" face in the middle. When Mario jumps onto a Spinning Flower and the player hits the n64 button, he is propelled in the air. This lets Mario reach higher than he could before, and it allows him to reach objects way up in the air. This also helps him find the Fearsome 5 that got lost playing hide-n-sneak in Jade Jungle.
In Paper Mario, they appear once again, only grown on Lavalava Island. In this game, the plants are purple instead of the red that they were before. They also only have the petals, with no "base" face in the middle. When Mario jumps on one and the player hits the n64 button, Mario will be propelled in the air. This allows Mario to reach higher than he could before. That will allow him to reach objects way up in the air, as well as help him find the Fearsome 5 that got lost playing hide-n-sneak in Jade Jungle.
