| | '''Spin Drills''' are items that appear in ''[[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]''. [[Mario]] can pick up a Spin Drill and drill directly through planets and dirt. When standing on a spherical planet, the player can use the Drill to go through the surface to the other side by shaking the Wii Remote. The Spin Drill can also uncover hidden inside areas of planets that are otherwise unaccessible. It cannot drill through hard/metallic/un-drillable surfaces. | The '''Spin Drill''' is an item in ''[[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]''. It lets the user dig straight down through dirt by shaking the [[Wii#Wii Remote|Wii Remote]]. It can be used to cross through to the opposite side of a planetoid or to reach cavities inside. Using the Spin Drill doubles as an attack, defeating enemies standing where [[Mario]] or [[Luigi]] emerges. The Spin Drill ricochets off hard materials such as metal; [[slope]]d hard surfaces underground can change the user's trajectory.
