Spiky Tromps were first seen in Chapter 1-4, in the [[Yold Ruins]], where many of them tried to block [[Mario]]'s path by slowly rolling back and forth, in order to ram the [[plumber]]. Although they are rather easy to dodge, they are absolutely invincible. There is an exception, however, if Mario can use [[Thoreau]] to cause them to fall into quicksand. | |||
In a part of that chapter, they actually help Mario and his [[Pixl]]s; by activating a switch, Mario triggered a supposedly lethal trap, which consisted in releasing an enormous number of Spiky Tromps (probably more than 1000 of them) so as to crush any intruder. But the enemies were so numerous that they ended up falling down a pit, filling it up, allowing the gang to walk across them and enter a door which was out of reach before. | |||
Spiky Tromps also appear in the [[minigame]] [[Tilt Island]]. They fall from the sky onto the island, and they make Mario lose a life when they manage to hit him.
