One of them spots Peach as she enters the room, but is convinced by [[Mr. Hammer]] to let her participate in the [[64th Trivia Quiz-Off]].
'''Spiky John''' is one of [[Bowser]]'s [[Koopatrol]]s guarding [[Peach's Castle]] during the events of ''[[Paper Mario]]''. Spiky John and his two friends ([[Mr. Hammer]] and a Koopatrol called [[Spiky Tom]]) were going to have a [[64th Trivia Quiz-Off|quiz show]]; however they needed one more person. [[Princess Peach]] showed up just in time and they all decided to let her play. During the game, Spiky John is only rarely able to successfully answer questions. Immediately after the quiz ends, Spiky John leaves the room.


During the quiz, Spiky Tom sits in the pink booth, and will answer some questions before Peach gets the chance to, giving away information the player has not learned yet. Spiky John sits in the blue booth, and will only answer questions if the player does not answer in time.
After the quiz, both of them walk away in opposite directions, with Spiky John seemingly leaving the room while Spiky Tom remains inside. After [[Bowser]] barges into the room and spots Princess Peach, she is carried back to her room by Spiky Tom and Mr. Hammer. Neither is seen again after.
