'''Spike Koopas''' are short [[Koopa Troopa]]s found only in ''[[Mario Party]]'', appearing exclusively in the [[minigame]] [[Key-pa-Way]]. Their role is to prevent all four characters from unlocking the door to the [[Treasure Chest]]. If a character comes in contact with one, he or she will be stunned or drop the [[Bowser Key]]. Luckily, they can be easily avoided by [[jump]]ing and tossing the Bowser Key.

They are probably minions of [[Bowser]], as they are seen guarding the Bowser Key. In the minigame, there is also a [[barrel]] with Bowser's head stamp in front of the locked door, indicating the Spike Koopas are protecting Bowser's stash.
