In the burrow, the Wiggler Segment and [[Comet Piece]] are stuck behind giant webs. The webs can be broken with Mario's [[hammer]]. During the fight with the [[Big Scuttlebug]], it makes a web that traps Mario if he uses a jump attack on it. It must be destroyed using other types of stickers. To reach and free Kersti, Mario must repeatedly jump on webs to break them.

In both variants, they are scattered in the red and blue pipelines, facing oncoming drivers. They slow drivers down on contact while very briefly covering their view with a film of silk, similarly to how [[Blooper]]s and [[Inky Piranha Plant]]s cover a driver's view with ink. Spider Webs can be destroyed by driving into them or throwing an item at them, giving bonus points in the process.
