In this game, when [[Luigi]] uses the Strobulb on a spider, it drops one [[coin]], except during [[Confront the Source]], in which spiders yield no coins, as they can respawn. Gold spiders can often be found after certain pieces of furniture are inspected. However, gold spiders tend to disappear if ignored for too long. If Luigi uses the Strobulb on a gold spider, it drops one [[Gold Bar]].  Spiders usually appear in groups of two to five, and gold spiders usually appear in groups of two to three after Luigi finds them. A large spider known as a '''spider queen''' is possessed by the [[Grouchy Possessor]], serving as the boss of the [[Gloomy Manor]].
