Gold spiders can often be found after certain pieces of furniture are inspected. However, gold spiders tend to disappear if ignored for too long. If Luigi uses the Strobulb on a gold spider, it drops one [[Gold Bar]].  Spiders usually appear in groups of two to five, and gold spiders usually appear in groups of two to three after Luigi finds them.
