A '''Speed Flower''' is a type of flower found in ''[[Super Paper Mario]]''. If the player picks it up, everything will speed up for a short period of time. Within that time, [[point]]s and [[coin]]s the player earns are tripled. [[Mario]]'s [[Flip Meter]] will also drain and refill faster. The [[Slow Flower]] is the opposite of the Speed Flower, as it slows the game down instead of speeding it up. If the player obtains a Slow Flower while under the effects of a Speed Flower, the speed reverts to normal. Exiting the area it was collected in, such as via a door or pipe, will also return time to normal.

While the player is under the effects of a Speed Flower, the background music is sped up to twice its standard tempo, and its pitch is raised by one octave; this is actually the format in which the majority of the game's music is stored, with the music being slowed down and lowered in pitch during the majority of gameplay, when the Speed Flower is not being used.<ref>Supper Mario Broth [@MarioBrothBlog] (December 2, 2023).
