The '''Special Episode''' is a purchasable DLC episode for the [[Nintendo Switch]] version of ''[[Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Nintendo Switch / Nintendo 3DS)|Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker]]''. It was released on March 14, 2019. This episode includes five new courses and 13 new challenges in existing courses. This DLC is not available in the Nintendo 3DS version.
'''Special Episode''' is a DLC purchasable episode of ''[[Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker]]''. It was announced in the February 13th, 2019 Direct and is set to release on March 14th, 2019. This episode was advertised to include 5 new courses, and 18 new challenges in existing courses.


In this episode, [[Captain Toad]] seeks [[Shiny Crown]]s, rather than [[Power Star]]s and [[Power Moon]]s as in the previous episodes (in the last level, a [[Super Crown]] is collected instead). Playing the game in the "Adventure for Two" co-op mode allows players to play as Captain Toad and [[Toadette]] at the same time.
While not guaranteed to be true for all levels, In this episode [[Captain Toad]] seeks a new type of treasure from the rest of the game, Golden Crowns. Because nobody was kidnapped at the beginning of the episode, unlike [[Episode 1]],[[Episode 2|2]] and Episode 3|3]], Playing the game in the "Adventure for Two" Co-op mode allows to play as Captain Toad and [[Toadette]] at the same time.
This episode can be unlocked for play once the DLC was purchased before Episode 2, Episode 3 or [[Bonus Episode]].

It's worth noting that you cannot search for Pixel Toad in this one level after beating it like the ones in Episodes 1-3. It is unknown whether Pixel Toad will be available in the full release of Special Episode.
