The '''Soda Star''' (ソーダスター, Sōda Sutā) is a special [[star]] that appears in ''[[Super Mario-kun]]'', in chapter 12 of ''[[Super Mario-kun]]'' [[Super Mario-kun Volume 2|volume 2]].

[[Luigi]] gets intoxicated by a [[Volcano Plant|Volcano Lotus]]'s powder, which turns him into stone. [[Yoshi]] and [[Mario]] forces the Plant to turn him back, but the Volcano Lotus reveals that it cannot, but says that maybe the Soda Star, located at the bottom of [[Soda Lake]] could do the trick. Later, Mario and Yoshi return from their trip from Soda Lake with a star and place it on Luigi, but only then they realized it is a normal starfish: the real Soda Star still rests on the bottom of the lake.
