For this mission, five Silver Stars are scattered around the course. In order to collect one of them, the Shiny Shell is required. To reach the Shiny Shell, the player has to get over the ledge in the freezing pond with the Spindrifts. By jumping onto a Spindrift or by using Luigi's Backward Somersault, the player can get over the ledge. Hitting the yellow block on the right produces the Shiny Shell.

Once all five Silver Stars are collected, the Power Star will appear in the Star Sphere at the start of the course (which replaces the Star Marker from the original game). If the player is attacked and drops a Silver Star, the Power Star will disappear until the player reclaims the dropped Silver Star.
