Despite his name and appearance, he repeatedly insists that he is not a pig although he often uses pig-related words in his speech. Additionally, his eyes are placed on his outlet-like "snout". His role is similar to [[Stuffwell]], [[Starlow]], and [[Prince Dreambert]] from previous ''[[Mario & Luigi (series)|Mario & Luigi]]'' titles as the brothers' primary companion. Unlike the previous companions, Snoutlet stores himself under Luigi's cap rather than in Mario's overalls.
