Based on Statues (game), the minigame involves players wearing barrels and trying to sneak past a sleeping Chain Chomp in order to escape from a dungeon. They can escape only by traveling to one end of the room, pressing their button, then escaping from the now-open door on the other side. When the Chain Chomp awakes, which it does frequently, it eliminates any exposed player from the game by dumping them into a Warp Pipe. If the player is hidden in a barrel, the Chain Chomp does not grab them. The player who presses the button and reaches the opened door first wins.
Players wear barrels bearing their character's symbol (like Mario's hat for Mario) as they try to sneak past a sleeping Chain Chomp and escape. In Mario Party Superstars, the barrels are red, blue, green, and yellow (for Players 1 to 4, respectively) and each have a star symbol. A player can fulfill the objective by going to one end, pressing a button to open a door, and then exit. If a player tries to hide in their barrel, they first slow gradually before stopping. However, when the Chain Chomp awakes, it eliminates any player not hiding by picking them up and dropping them into a Warp Pipe. The first player to exit wins, though if the Chain Chomp grabs all the players or time runs out, it is a draw.

The minigame ends when a player reaches the end, though Mario Party Superstars ranks players by when they reach the door, with players caught by the Chain Chomp always coming in last place.
In Mario Party 2, the barrels have the colors and symbols relevant to the character, such as Mario's hat for Mario and an egg for Yoshi, while in Mario Party Superstars, the barrels have a star symbol and are colored in the standard red, blue, green, and yellow (for players 1 to 4 respectively).

It costs 150 Coins to buy from Woody in Mario Party 2.
