They are a variant of Big Boo that appears in Episode 3 of Sirena Beach only. Sleepy Boos are stationed in various passages of Hotel Delfino, mostly in the attic, but one is also located on the second floor of the hotel, blocking the sole passage between two rooms. Though Sleepy Boos do not wake up in response to anything, they will do one point of damage to Mario if he makes contact. The only way to defeat a Sleepy Boo and therefore for Mario to bypass it is for a Yoshi to eat it. If Mario touches a Sleepy Boo while on a Yoshi, he will be flung off the Yoshi, but it is very hard for Mario to mount the Yoshi again since he will be too close to the Sleepy Boo. | | Sleepy Boos<ref>Hodgson, David S J, Bryan Stratton, and Stephen Stratton. | | Sleepy Boos cannot be passed or jumped over; even F.L.U.D.D. does not affect them. Even though they are sleeping, contact with them will hurt Mario. The only way to defeat a Sleepy Boo is for Yoshi to eat it, thus clearing the way. |
