Purple Skittlers rise and lower on a web thread, but will fall to the ground if jumped on. While on the ground, they give chase to [[Donkey Kong]] and [[Diddy Kong]] in an attempt to injure them. A few purple Skittlers hanging directly above a pit will perish immediately from a jump attack, instead of falling down. Orange Skittlers, on the other hand, are more passive and will slowly land on the ground regardless of the [[Kong]]s' actions. Once they reach the ground, orange Skittlers proceed to crawl towards the Kongs, but will ignore them and continue to go further if avoided.

The Kongs will lose a heart point after mere contact with a Skittler. They cannot approach a Skittler with a [[Roll Attack|roll attack]] if the enemy is hanging from a thread, though other attacks will work. However, once on its feet, the enemy can be defeated with any attack, including a roll.
