''WarioWare: Get It Together!'' introduces an alternate speed-based mode. In this mode, players can start with up to eight lives. If a player wins a microgame first, their opponent's screen will freeze (if they have not already lost), making it impossible to win the microgame and thus forcing them to lose a life. It is possible for both players to win at the same time, especially if the microgame is a survival-based microgame. When this happens, no player loses a life.

===Differences between games===
In ''Gold'', the host player can select the control scheme (Mash, Twist, Touch, and Ultra) that appears for the microgames.

In ''Get It Together!'', the players can select between using one, five, or all characters (sans [[Spitz]] and [[Ana]]) in Standard Round. In Lightning Round, the game uses all characters, with the players always using the same character for each microgame.
