Seedlusas start battles in their Seedle form, faced away from Mario and Luigi. When it is the enemy's turn, they might look around before sweating, or they can flee the fight entirely. If there is only one Seedlusa left, it cannot run away. Seedlusas in this form have low HP but extremely high defense. If a Seedlusa is defeated in this form, it rewards much less experience. The order of which buds will bloom is determined by the order they emerge from the ground. Some buds might rise in the air, indicating that the shockwave will occur above the brothers. Mario and Luigi must [[jump]] to avoid the shockwaves generated by the buds close to the ground and duck (no input required) under the ones generated by the elevated buds. This attack can inflict the [[Glohm]] status effect.
