'''Screamy''' is one of [[Luigi]]'s partners in ''[[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door]]''. Luigi met Screamy while looking for a piece of the [[List of implied items#Marvelous Compass|Marvelous Compass]] in [[List of implied locations#Rapturous Ruins|Rapturous Ruins]]. It is unknown why or how Screamy joined up with Luigi as Luigi does not say and the most Screamy explains is "I must deliver something". His name and appearance invoke a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream in keeping with the dessert theme of Luigi's adventure, or a spirit of some sort.

Brown Screamy-like creatures and their dark versions were [[list of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door pre-release and unused content#Unused data|originally going to appear as enemies]], but were removed from the final version. These creatures may be prototype designs for [[Smorg]]s, as they are referred to as "moa" in the coding. Screamy and [[Hayzee]] are the only one of Luigi's partners who do not despise or find something wrong with him. Hayzee is the only partner to explicitly be shown liking Luigi, as Screamy's relationship with Luigi is vague and shrouded in mystery.
