The SandWorm is an evil, worm-like boss in Wario World, fought in a large sand pit that continually pulls Wario in the center. SandWorm is the boss of Greenhorn Ruins. His main attack is spitting spiky balls, but if damaged enough, will strike back with powerful moves, including slicing Wario with his scythe-like hands. He is quite easy, though, as all Wario must do to damage him is give him repeated punches.

The Sandworm (referred to as Big Scorper in the game's European website despite this being the name of an unrelated enemy) is an antagonist in Wario World. It is a scythe-armed monster based mostly on antlion larvae, which make sand pits and have very large jaws, though the scythe arms of the Sandworm appear to reference the praying mantis, which has arms shaped like a scythe. The Sandworm is fought as a boss in a large quicksand pit at the end of Greenhorn Ruins and then later as an enemy in Pecan Sands. It attacks mainly by spitting spiked balls at Wario. Sandworm takes damage from being hit repeatedly, but it cannot be stunned. When the Sandworm loses a health skull, it becomes temporarily invincible and either slashes after Wario or burrows to the center of the arena to spit several spiked balls in random directions as the sand pit moves faster. The Sandworm slices with its arms at Wario as it becomes more damaged. Sandworm takes five hits to defeat, or four in Pecan Sands.

SandWorm never becomes stunned. But when one of his health skulls gets chopped off, he slashes after Wario with his scythe-like hands. Also, SandWorm may dash to the center of the arena and start spitting many spiked balls in random directions. When this happens, the arena pulls Wario in much faster. Simply stay away from his sand trail, and sooner or later, he will die, giving Wario access to Dinomighty!
