The '''Safari Room''' is a room in Area Three of [[Luigi's Mansion (location)|the mansion]] in ''[[Luigi's Mansion]]'' and [[Luigi's Mansion (Nintendo 3DS)|its remake]]. It can be unlocked using the [[Key]] from the [[Fortune-teller's Room]]. The Safari Room has three animal pelts on the floor (and only two pelts on tables in a pre-release version). It also contains two shelves of boxes under the deer heads, as well as an easy chair on the east wall. Beside the easy chair is a chest that always contains a 50-[[Health Point|HP]] restoring Heart for [[Luigi]]. A piece of [[cheese]] with a [[Gold Mouse]] is wedged between the easy chair and the chest. Using the [[Game Boy Horror]], the player can see a [[Mirror (object)|mirror]] on the south wall. The [[Ghost (Luigi's Mansion series)|ghosts]] do not appear until vacuuming the mounted deer heads on the north wall, and in the remake, the mounted deer heads have glowing red eyes when all three are shaken (glowing blue when only one or two are activated). After Luigi has defeated every ghost, a [[treasure chest]] containing the key to the [[Balcony (3F)]] appears.

A comment in the October 2001 issue of ''[[Nintendo Power]]'' referring to a "''ghost of a hunter''" who would "''want to add Luigi to his collection''" led several people to [[List of rumors and urban legends#Hunter ghost|incorrectly assume]] that a hunter-themed portrait ghost had once existed in the game before being cut for being too violent. However, due to the magazine being released after the game's Japanese release, this seems to be merely flavor text.

* According to an issue of Nintendo power, there was an unused portrait ghost that was originally intended for the final game but was cut as it was deemed too scary. he was going to be modeled after a typical Australian hunter, he would, apparently, have a rifle that he would shoot you with and his text dialogue was along the lines of stating he wanted to kill luigi and mount his head as a trophy, similar to what happened with all the animals he killed.
