A Rubee is a type of currency found in Super Paper Mario, favored by the character Mimi. They resemble small red gems, as do Flipside Tokens. Their name may be a combination of "rubies" and "Rupees", the currency in  The Legend of Zelda series.

In Chapter 2-3, Mario and Princess Peach break a vase belonging to Mimi, who states that it was her favorite vase and that they must pay 1,000,000 Rubees for it. As they do not carry that currency, Mario and Peach are forced to work off their debt, earning Rubees by generating electricity by hitting blocks or running in wheels. They deposit Rubees at Rubee Savings and Loan, Mimi's bank.
In Chapter 2, Mario breaks a vase belonging to Mimi, under the guise of Merlee's maid. Mimi orders Mario to pay for the vase in Rubees — one million of them, to be exact. Mario only had Coins on him, however, so Mimi puts him to work to pay off the debt. Mario starts off working just like the other captives, but soon discovers a massive hoard of Rubees, allowing him to pay off the debt. Mimi also use them to attack the heroes and they stuck on the floor on impact, wish even in that state are a treath, because they dificult the heroe's movement and they damage the heroes if they jump on them, however, despite their spiky nature, they can be carried with thoreau and throw at Mimi.

A stash of 1,000,000 Rubees can be found at the top of the mansion inside a locked safe with an 8-digit combination, 41262816. Once the heroes pay off their debt, Mimi's curse on the mansion is broken and she disappears in an explosion.
Trivia
*Rubees may have been named after combining Rubies with Rupees, the currency in The Legend of Zelda series (which were named after the currency of India). Further comparing the two is the fact that they both resemble oblong octagonal gems. However, Rupees come in many colors and denominations, while Rubees only come in red. Rubees are also almost identical to the gem treasures of Clu Clu Land, which some have theorized that Rupees were based on. The similar appearance and implied purpose to Rupees may have been deliberate, and the name Rubees may have been a reference to their mispelling in the original Legend of Zelda game, also being called Rubees.
*Flipside Tokens greatly resemble Rubees, being simple recolors of them.

Mimi also uses Rubees to attack in her boss battles. In her spider form, she is able to climb on the ceiling to drop Rubees or toss them while on the ground. In both attacks, the gems stick into the floor and will do damage if the player lands on their sharp tips. Mimi also has an attack in which she summons a wave of Rubees across the floor. In the final battle against her, she can extract Rubees from all sides of her head and spin around the room. She is invincible in this state. In her girl form, Mimi surrounds herself in a ring of Rubees as a barrier and summons them out of midair to shoot straight at the player. She can also create a line of Rubees in the air and drop them. Despite their spiky nature, all Rubees can be picked up and thrown with Thoreau.
