The Rocket Nozzle is one of [[F.L.U.D.D. | The Rocket Nozzle is one of F.L.U.D.D.'s nozzles in Super Mario Sunshine. Using it launches Mario upward after charging for a brief period. It will not launch Mario while he is swimming, so he must jump out right before he is launched if there is no land near him. Using the Rocket Nozzle launches Mario high enough to perform powerful Ground Pounds that can destroy certain objects with a flame icon on them, including the rock on top of the Delfino Plaza lighthouse or the edges of Bowser's tub during the final battle. The Rocket Nozzle can be obtained from red nozzle boxes. However, they are not available at the start of the game, and the boxes will be transparent and intangible. To make the box in Delfino Plaza active, Mario must collect 30 Shine Sprites, after which Shadow Mario will be seen in Delfino Plaza holding the nozzle. Chasing him down unlocks the Rocket Nozzle for use in Delfino Plaza. In levels featuring them, a hard-to-reach red nozzle box appears solid while any others are transparent; collecting the nozzle from the solid one permanently activates all the others for the level, even in other episodes. Obtaining the Rocket Nozzle replaces the Hover Nozzle or Turbo Nozzle if Mario had them previously. | ||
