Rockkrocs are a rare variety of Kremlings found only in the game Donkey Kong Country. Rockkrocs, unlike other Kremlings, have brown rocky skin and red eyes. In fact, this skin is so tough, Rockkrocs are invulnerable to any form of attack. Additionally, Rockkrocs are extremely fast, allowing them to quickly dispatch anyone that invades their territory. When inactive, a Rockkroc will curl into a ball (and resemble a boulder).

They have rocky, brown skin and glowing red eyes. The official German guide for the game implies that the Rock Krocs are zombies.
History
Donkey Kong Country
Rock Krocs appear Donkey Kong Country. They are encountered in Stop & Go Station only, contrary to what is said in the Player's Guide. Rock Krocs are the main obstacle and feature of said stage, and Stop & Go Barrels can manipulate their movements. The Rock Krocs move continuously by default because the barrels are all set to "GO," but if the barrels are set to "STOP", every Rock Kroc curls up like a boulder and stops moving; this is required to pass through the level. However, after a few seconds, every Stop & Go Barrel reverts back to "GO", followed by the Rock Krocs getting up to continue moving. It is possible to roll through a Rock Kroc without taking damage. In the Japanese version and the second remake, if a Rock Kroc is curled up, either a barrel or Donkey Kong's Hand Slap can defeat it. When defeated, Rock Kroc releases either a banana, Banana Bunch, or an Extra Life Balloon.

Donkey Kong Country novel
In the original Donkey Kong Country, Rockkrocs appeared in only one level, "Stop & Go Station." Since they are invulnerable, Donkey and Diddy Kong had to figure out another way to pass by them. Unfortunately, since Rockkrocs are so fast, it was virtually impossible for Donkey and Diddy to pass them by jumping. As soon as they landed, the heroes would be immediately attacked by one of the agile Rockkrocs. However, the two Kongs could activate special barrels located throughout the level that would prevent the Rockkrocs from moving. These barrels are normally on the "GO" setting, but when the Kongs hit the barrel, the setting switched to "STOP." At this time, the Rockkrocs curl into balls and stop moving, allowing Donkey and Diddy to pass by. However, this effect would only last for a short period time. After a few seconds, the barrels would revert back to the "GO" setting, allowing the Rockkrocs to run wild.
An individual Rock Kroc appears as one of King K. Rool's lieutenants at the end of the Donkey Kong Country novel. Shortly after the Kongs board the Gangplank Galleon, Diddy stomps Rock Kroc's head, causing him to collapse (unlike in Donkey Kong Country).

Donkey Kong Country: Rumble in the Jungle
In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country, Rockkrocs could be defeated. Donkey Kong could use his Hand Slap attack to destroy a Rockkroc while it was curled up in a ball.
A Rock Kroc leads a "squadron" of Kremlings within their factory in Big Ape City in the novel Donkey Kong Country: Rumble in the Jungle. It is encountered by Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Cranky Kong, and Funky Kong after they try to escape the factory in Funky's barrel plane. Rock Kroc and the Kremlings attempt to attack the plane, though Donkey Kong uses a TNT Barrel to rip a large hole in the factory's wall, and the characters escape before Rock Kroc can reach them.

Trivia
*Rockkrocs are the only type of Kremling from the Donkey Kong Country game to never appear in the Donkey Kong Country animated series in any way, shape or form.
A Rock Kroc is the main antagonist of the Donkey Kong Country anticipation chapter in volume 12 of Super Mario-kun. Mario and Yoshi help Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong retrieving their banana hoard, protected by one Rock Kroc. DK attempts to defeat him with a Roll Attack, but he bounces back, then he grabs a TNT Barrel, but the Kremling takes advantage of his appearance to hide between the rocks of the area and, not sure who to hit, DK's barrel explodes in his hands. Mario manages to lure him out with a free coupon and crushes him with a hammer, but the rock debris come together to create a giant rocky Rock Kroc, but it trips on banana peel left by Yoshi and comes apart. DK and Mario then crush the rocks into sand with hammers, defeating it.
*Kritters that look similar to Rockkrocs in color appear in the level Loopy Lights.
*Their name comes from the words "Rock" and "Croc," which is short for Crocodile.
