One player in the [[Red Shell]] boat drives around to get coins, while the other three players on [[Green Shell]]s collect the coins and [[coin bag]]s together. There are some logs that float around the river. If a player hits a log, that player is temporarily unable to get coins. At the end of the minigame, the solo player and team get to keep the number of coins they collected, and the coins are added to their coin totals.
One player in the boat drives around to get [[coin]]s while the other three players on [[Green Shell]]s collect the coins together. For instance, a player gets 15 coins, another gets nine coins and the last player gets 13 coins; add the coins up together and the three players get 37 coins each. There are some logs that float around the river, if a player hits a log, the player is temporary unable to get coins or coin bags.

If the team of three or solo player has collected more than one coin, they do their winning animation. If they have collected no coins, the team players do their losing animations and the solo player continues steering the Red Shell boat.
