Energy rings return in ''[[New Super Mario Bros. U]]'', however Wendy does not create them using her Magic Wand. During her boss fight, Wendy now throws two energy rings at a time, using them to knock loose the [[icicle]]s hanging from the ceiling of her boss arena. After being stomped twice, she throws three energy rings.

During the battle against Wendy and [[Roy|Roy Koopa]] in ''[[Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam]]'', Wendy uses giant rings as her only solo attack.
