The Reset Rocket later appears in Super Mario Maker 2. It can be found in the Course Maker in the same screen position and serves the same purpose. Reset Rockets also appear in the game's Story Mode, where they play a big part. In the opening, shortly after Mario and the Toads finish building Peach's Castle, they notice a Reset Rocket button in front of the castle. Just as they start to sort it out, Undodog appears, and while they are distracted, he steps on the button and holds it down for five seconds, causing the entire castle to get destroyed. Much later on, in the ending sequence, as fireworks are shot into the sky and everyone waves at the player, Undodog notices another Reset Rocket button in front of the castle, which worries the others, although the end credits revealed that it ultimately was not pressed.

Also, in Super Mario Maker, in 10 Mario Challenge and 100 Mario Challenge, after Mario hits the "TO BE CONTINUED" text, Undodog follows after him, riding a Reset Rocket.
