Red-Blue Flipping Platforms are platforms that are occasionally found in 3-D Mario platformers. They appear as flat tiles, suspended in midair, that flip over after a certain amount of time or when Mario spins. They can be found in Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy 2, and each game has different designs and mechanics for these platforms.

Red-Blue Flipping Platforms appear only in the second secret mission of Bianco Hills, The Secret of the Dirty Lake. They are sets of wooden platforms that either have red on both sides, or blue on both sides. Every few seconds, the red platforms will flip, followed by the blue platforms flipping at the same time interval. Some of these platforms also moved along a set path as they flipped.

Flipping panels are objects in Super Mario Galaxy 2. When Mario (or Luigi) performs a spin, the platforms flip over, causing the red platforms to show while the blue ones are hidden, or vice versa. Flipping panels appear as the primary stage element of the Flip-Swap Galaxy, though minor sections of the same platforms also make an appearance in various parts of the Chompworks Galaxy and the Grandmaster Galaxy as well. In order to successfully make his way through the areas in which these platforms are present, Mario must skillfully spin to make them flip at exactly the right moment. Otherwise, he will fall into open space and lose a life.

Red-Blue Panels are objects in Super Mario 3D Land. Unlike before, they can be activated just by jumping.
Red-Blue Flipping Platforms appear as the primary stage element of the Flip-Swap Galaxy. These platforms are now colored red on one side and blue on the other side. When Mario spins at any time, all platforms in the area will flip along a hinge to their opposite side. Mario could also use these platforms to do a superjump, known as the High Jumps Glitch. Also, Red-Blue Flipping Platforms appear in one of the planets in the Chompworks Galaxy, where Chomps could roll along a line of these platforms, and even turn when the platforms changed direction.
