The '''Rec Room''' is a special area found inside the [[Peach's Castle|Mushroom Castle]] in ''[[Super Mario 64 DS]]''. This room, located in the right wing of the mezzanine, features a drawer of colored boxes, each one containing a [[minigame]] that [[Mario]], [[Yoshi]], [[Luigi]], and [[Wario]] reveal as they catch the [[rabbit]]s running around the castle who hold the [[key]]s that open the drawer's boxes, and then talk to the [[Toad (species)|Toad]] in that room. The latter looks after the room, said to be where [[Princess Peach]] played as a child, and hosts the minigames whenever the player wants to play in the Rec Room. The Rec Room's minigames can also be accessed on the title screen. Each player character has nine minigames. Two are unlocked from the start, and the other seven are unlocked by catching rabbits, making a total of 36. Most of the minigames are reused in ''[[New Super Mario Bros.]]'' The room contains other things, such as a piano, some [[shell|Koopa shell]]s, [[block]]s, [[Bob-omb]] toys, [[Power Star|Star]]s, and a [[mushroom]]-styled table near the entrance of the room. There is also the [[painting]] of the course [[Sunshine Isles]], and in the back of the Rec Room is a door to another room, which contains the entrance to the [[Goomboss Battle]] portrait, where one of Luigi's rabbits is located.

The music that plays in the Rec Room's minigame menu is an arrangement of [[Grass Land]]'s map theme from ''[[Super Mario Bros. 3]]''.
