They are somewhat rare and only appear in three levels: [[Rammerhead Reef]], [[Captain Toad Makes a Splash]], and [[Pipeline Boom Lagoon]].


Rammerheads resemble hammerhead sharks with wide, studded heads similar to [[spiked roller]]s. Only the heads of Rammerheads causes damage, and they are defeated only when struck by the player character in their [[Invincible Mario|Invincible form]] or if [[Ground Pound]]ed in their [[Lucky Cat Mario|Lucky Cat form]]. The Rammerheads with the widest heads are a drab purple and typically swim in circles, emulating [[Fire Bar]]s. In dimly lit areas, their bodies appear luminescent. The narrow-headed Rammerheads are pinkish and are typically trailed by [[bubble]]s that contain items. Some of the pinkish Rammerheads leap out of the water. In the ''[[Super Mario Bros.
