Queen B. is a large Zinger and the queen of the species. She is the third boss of Donkey Kong Country, fought at the end of Vine Valley in Bumble B. Rumble. Here, Queen B. tries to sting Donkey or Diddy Kong with her massive stinger. Because she has spikes on her back, Queen B. cannot be stomped. Queen B. can be attacked by having a barrel thrown at her, causing her to turn red and fly around the level. During this phase, Queen B. is invulnerable, and she moves toward the Kongs in a wave-like motion. After a while, Queen B. turns back to yellow, and the Kongs can throw another barrel at her. Each time she is hit, Queen B. begins to move around more quickly until eventually being defeated after five hits.

In the Game Boy Advance version, Queen B., while red, is protected by normal Zingers, which have to be defeated before Queen B. can be attacked. Queen B. always moves in a wavy motion, regardless of her coloration and vulnerability, but she only directly follows after the Kongs while yellow. Additionally, in the dialogue from Cranky Kong after Queen B.'s defeat, he incorrectly uses the pronoun "him" to describe Queen B.
In battle, Queen B. attempts to sting Donkey or Diddy Kong with her massive stinger. Since she has spikes on her back, Queen B. cannot be stomped. To attack Queen B., Donkey or Diddy must throw a barrel at her. This causes her to turn red and fly around the level. During this phase, Queen B. is invulnerable and the Kongs must avoid her attacks as she starts moving towards them in a wave motion. After a while, Queen B. turns back to yellow, and the Kongs can throw another barrel at her. Queen B. goes faster for every hit that she takes. After taking five, Queen B. is defeated.

A similar boss appears in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, King Zing, who is the king of the Zingers.
In the Game Boy Advance remake, Queen B., while red, is protected by normal Zingers. The Kongs must defeat them before they can attack Queen B. again. Also, she always moves in a wavy motion, regardless of her coloration and vulnerability, though she only directly follows after the Kongs while yellow.
