The minigame starts in a garden with flowers and hills in the background. The players on each team have to pump as much air into the rocket as possible within the ten-second time limit. The player can pump the most air into the rocket when the pump is flashing. When the teams start up their rockets, the rockets blast off past [[Lakitu]]s holding signs of the distances, [[Fly Guy]]s, and [[Bullet Bill]]s into space. The team whose rocket flies higher wins the minigame.

If both teams do nothing, they will appear tired and the minigame will end in a draw. It is possible for both teams to have the same distance; one of the teams will win by 48 yards/metres if this were to occur.<ref>mkdasher (July 6, 2012).
