The Pop Diva (whose real name is Chanterelle) is a character in Paper Mario. She is a purple Toad singer. Her given name is a play on "Cantharellus," a species of edible mushroom, and "chanteuse," a female singer of popular songs who frequents nightclubs.

The Pop Diva is a singer who usually performs at Club 64. However, she has become very depressed since Princess Peach had been kidnapped and lost her ability sing. However, her vocal ability is regained after Mario obtains the Lyrics with the Melody added to them. Once she is given the composition, the Pop Diva sings in tune for Mario and rewards him the Attack FX D Badge. Mario can request the Pop Diva to sing the tune again, as desired. Later, the Pop Diva and two of her Toad instrumentalists appear in the credits, conducted by the Master Poet. The very song is played at "The End" screen for some time while Peach and Mario observe the fireworks at the Mario Bros.' House.

The Pop Diva's song becomes a hit, with an instrumental version of it appearing the Hot Hits Music Station. The song can be listened to by Mario in Koopa Village, in the house of the radio-loving Koopa, who calls the song moving and that it brings him to tears whenever he listens to it.
