'''A-1: Poltergust 5000''' is the first mission in [[Gloomy Manor]] and the first mission in ''[[Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon]]''. It starts with [[Professor E. Gadd]] sending [[Luigi]] off to recover the [[Poltergust 5000]] in order for Luigi to be equipped for the adventure.

Luigi has to walk into the gates of Gloomy Manor into the [[Front Yard]], in which the gates close on Luigi. Luigi first has to inspect a window, which shows several [[Greenie]]s stealing the [[Strobulb]] inside the car. Next, Luigi should try opening the door. After Luigi fails, a mouse scurries out with a [[key]] in its tail. Luigi must catch the key from the mouse, and snatching the key enables him to open the door to the Gloomy Manor. Luigi, now in the [[Entrance]] should then go into the [[Garage (Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon)|Garage]], where the Poltergust 5000 is hidden in there. Professor E. Gadd gives some instructions on using the Poltergust 5000 and asks him to try it out in the Garage. In the garage contains a treasure chest (Luigi has to vacuum a sheet first before accessing the chest) that has a key in it.

Next, Luigi should go back to the entrance and suck up a carpet that blocks the door to the [[Mudroom]]. The key of this room is on top of a ceiling fan; Luigi must spin the fan using the Poltergust 5000 to obtain the key on top of it. The key opens the door to the [[Guard Hall]], adjacent to the entrance. Several [[Spider (Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon)|spiders]] come down; Luigi can simply vacuum them or shine the Strobulb to defeat them. 

In the Guard Hall, Luigi finds several Greenies causing mischief. They escape into the next room, the [[Foyer (Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon)|Foyer]]. Luigi must dash through the hallway avoid the weapons used by the suits of armor. Luigi then stumbles into the Foyer, where he witnesses two Greenies pointing the location of the Strobulb; it is on top of a chandelier. To retrieve it, Luigi must go to the second floor, spin the blade using his Poltergust, and then acquire the Strobulb after the chandelier has been lowered. However, if Luigi take too long, the chandelier will rise again.

The Strobulb is required to access the room closed by a switch. Luigi should flash the switch, and it grants him access to the [[Coatroom]]. To access the hidden room, Luigi should inspect the toilet. The wall rotates and throws Luigi into a hidden bathroom. Next, Luigi should pull the shower curtain to reveal a Greenie taking a shower; this shocks the Greenie, and it escapes the other room. When Luigi tries to leave this room, the doors get locked by a gate, and Greenies appear to attack him. After Luigi defeats all the Greenies, the gates lift and Luigi can return to the Foyer. Several more Greenies are found in the foyer; defeating them all completes the mission.
