The Piranha Plant Capsule is an item that first appears in Mario Party 5, where it can be thrown to a space on the board, or used on the player for five coins, though this is pointless. Whoever lands on a space containing this capsule gets chewed up by a Piranha Plant and spat out, causing them to lose half their coins. If the player has an odd number of coins, they lose the larger portion. In Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7, it becomes the Piranha Plant Orb that players can only place on a space; it costs fifteen coins at the Orb Shop. Opponents that land on a space containing the Orb are still eaten by a Piranha Plant and lose half their coins, which are then transferred to the space's owner.

The Piranha Plant Capsule first appeared in Mario Party 5, where it and could be thrown to a space on the board, or used on the player for five coins (but this is not advised). Whoever landed on a space containing this capsule got chewed up by a Piranha Plant and was then spat out. They lost half their coins from this. In Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7, it became an orb that players could only place on a space (and costs fifteen coins at the Orb Shop). Opponents that landed on a space containing the orb again got eaten by a Piranha Plant, but the owner of that space received half their coins.
