| The object of the minigame is for players to fill their respective spaces with blocks carried out by a conveyor belt. There are several types of pieces, all of which come in four colors: red, yellow, green, and blue. The types of pieces are single blocks (one block), double blocks (two blocks), triple blocks (three blocks), quadruple blocks (four blocks) in line form or rectangle form, and double triple blocks (six blocks that consist of two rows of triple blocks). If the player picks the wrong block(s) and wants to get rid of it/them, they must hover the block(s) over the trash bin area at the bottom of the player's field. By doing so, the player gets rid of this/these block(s) and is able to grab a new one. Once the field is completely filled, the pieces disappear, giving the player more chances to fill the space and get more [[point]]s. Points are based on the size of the area of the same-colored blocks, and they are not awarded until the space is filled. Filling all the blocks in one color awards 13,500 points in the ''Mario Party 5'' version and 35,000 points in the ''Mario Party DS'' version. | In the ''Mario Party DS'' single-player version, the player has one minute on each level to fill their grid. The player must fill the grid completely to complete a level, and the minigame ends if time runs out on any level. Occasionally, blocks with angry faces appear, in which their arrangement changes after one is grabbed. Starting from Level 15, metal blocks are placed on the field, where they fill the space so they cannot be placed by any other block. One metal block is placed on Levels 15 to 19, two metal blocks are on Levels 20 to 24, three metal blocks are on Levels 25 to 29, four metal blocks are on Levels 30 to 34, and five metal blocks are placed starting from Level 35. Additionally, from Level 30 onwards, the field has colored spaces with symbols where only a block of a specific color can be placed on it. There are four such spaces on Levels 30 and 31, five on Levels 32 to 34, six on Levels 35 to 37, seven on Levels 38 to 40, eight on Levels 41 to 43, nine on Levels 44 to 46, and ten starting from Level 47. The multiplayer version follows the same rules as ''Mario Party 5'', and it allows time settings of one minute, three minutes, and five minutes.
