'''Petey's Bomb Battle''' is a boss [[minigame]] in ''[[Mario Party 10]]''.
'''Petey's Bomb Battle''' is a boss minigame that appears in ''[[Mario Party 10]]''. Found at the end of [[Mushroom Park]], it pits players against [[Petey Piranha]].

==Overview==
==Intro==
The minigame takes place in [[Mushroom Park]] and involves players battling [[Petey Piranha]].<ref>{{cite|timestamp=0:11|url=youtu.be/MxFxGPToX6k?feature=shared&t=11|title=''Mario Party 10'' - Petey's Bomb Battle Boss Gameplay <nowiki>[ HD ]</nowiki>|author=XCageGame|date=March 20, 2015|publisher=YouTube|accessdate=March 12, 2025}}</ref> Petey Piranha takes damage from [[bomb]]s, each matching a player's color and therefore earning them [[point]]s. Petey sometimes leans forward before opening his mouth to swallow bombs and spit them back at players. A player loses a point from each hit. After losing half of his health, Petey bites and roars as steam rises from his head. Petey Piranha now opens his mouth more often and has a fake-out where he leans forward repeatedly before opening his mouth. Petey also spits a black bomb in addition to any bomb he spits. It takes 130 hits in total to defeat Petey Piranha, who proceeds to explode, and whoever did the final shot gets a five point bonus. Whoever ends with the most points wins, but if the boss is not defeated by five minutes, it is a draw.
The players are standing in a small plaza near a pool. Suddenly, Petey drops from the sky, only to slow his descent by flapping his leaves. He lands on a raised dais on the other end of the plaza and roars at the players, who pick up color-coded bombs as the minigame begins.

==Gameplay==
[[File:Mario Party 10 Petey Piranha.png|thumb|left|The minigame at E3]]The players must deplete Petey's health by shooting bombs at him. Every successful hit gives the shooter a point. During the battle, Petey will periodically open his mouth - any shots fired at this point will be swallowed harmlessly. After Petey closes his mouth, he will spit any swallowed projectiles back to their shooters, making them lose one point per bomb. Petey will telegraph this defense by leaning forward as the players shoot him - at this point, it's best to cease fire and wait for him to close his mouth. After a successful counterattack, Petey may also dance for a moment, leaving him vulnerable to attack.

When Petey loses half of his health, he becomes angry and intensifies the battle. He opens his mouth much more frequently than before, and also tries to fake players out by leaning forward repeatedly before actually opening his mouth. On top of this, any players who shoot bombs into Petey's mouth will lose an extra point from a final bomb that Petey spits out after their "reflected" shots.

The final shot (the one that takes down Petey) is worth a bonus of five points. Petey takes 130 hits before being defeated. The player with the most points wins. Petey falls down onto the floor before disappearing into white clouds after being defeated.
