| '''Peewee Piranha''' is a [[Dino Piranha]] that appears in ''[[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]''. Unlike the original Dino Piranhas, it has a short tail, a glowing red behind under its eggshell, and a large tongue that regularly hangs out. It appears as a boss in two levels of [[Sky Station Galaxy]]: [[Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum]] and [[Peewee Piranha's Speed Run]]. Its name comes from "pee-wee," a word that can be used to describe something small or immature, the latter of which Peewee Piranha is, and may have also derived from "[[Petey Piranha]]." Peewee Piranha shares its boss theme with [[Sorbetti]], [[Rollodillo]], and [[Prince Pikante]].

[[Mario]] first encounters the creature enclosed in an [[egg]], much like the [[Dino Piranha]] in the [[Super Mario Galaxy|first game]]. The boss looks very similar to the Dino Piranha, except it has green petals, and its entire backside is protected by the eggshell. The Peewee Piranha attacks mainly by charging at Mario, much like its predecessor. Mario will need to hit the shell to expose its bulbous and throbbing rear end. After Mario hits the Peewee Piranha from behind once, it will reform its shell for protection and begin to charge at Mario again. Its attacks are now much faster and it can also lunge at the plumber. Mario will need to hit the eggshell three more times to let its throbbing rear to be hit again, and be defeated, granting Mario the [[Power Star]]. So far this boss is confirmed for the mission "Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum". | To defeat Peewee, Mario must hit it in its only weak point: its glowing red behind. However, the behind is protected by the shell of the egg. To get rid of the shell, Mario has to [[spin]] into it up to three times (or twice, if Mario hits an area that is already exposed), which prompts it to shatter off Peewee's body. Mario can also [[Ground Pound|ground-pound]] the top of the shell to instantly shatter it completely. Peewee's enormous behind is then open to attack, but Peewee runs away from Mario. After Mario hits Peewee's behind once, Peewee gets mad and its head turns red, just like Dino Piranha. Its shell also reforms, and the background music goes up a {{wp|semitone|half step}} and speeds up. In addition, Peewee charges at Mario faster.
