He is a small yellow bird with a blue head and a white neck-stripe; his blue wing-feathers are tipped with red, and he has two long, curved tail feathers, giving him a similar appearance to certain {{wp|bird-of-paradise|birds-of-paradise}}, such as the {{wp|red bird-of-paradise}}. Parry's name is a shortened form of the word "parallel" ("to be an equal distance apart"), and likely also plays off "paradise." Parry is the only Animal Friend from the game who does not appear in ''[[Donkey Kong Land III]]''. He cannot be mounted, comparably to [[Squawks]] in ''[[Donkey Kong Country]]'', and his [[animal crate]] is smaller than the other Animal Friends, given his short size. Parry is also the only Animal Friend of the game without his own [[Animal Barrel]]. Parry flies above [[Dixie Kong|Dixie]] and [[Kiddy Kong]] and mimics their movements, hence his name. Parry can sometimes obtain otherwise unreachable items, such as in instances where if the Kongs jump, Parry mimics this behavior.
