The [[Lakitu's Cloud]] gives the player two coins, the [[Yoshi's Egg|Yoshi Egg]] gives three, the [[Mushroom]] gives four, the [[Fire Flower]] gives five, and the [[Star]] gives ten. Occasionally, ? cards appear, and what they represent is not revealed until the cards are placed down. If all the cards are put down and matched, then the numbers of coins they are worth are doubled for all suits. The minigame ends when all cards have been placed or when every space has been filled. In Shroom City, the player is given 30 coins to start with. The minigame is won by obtaining at least one coin more than started with.
