The '''New Year's 2021 Tour''' is the thirty-fourth tour of ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'', which began on December 30, 2020 and will end on January 12, 2021. Hence the name, the tour celebrates the new year of 2021. A new remix variation of [[Rainbow Road (SNES)|SNES Rainbow Road]], called [[RMX Rainbow Road 2]], is introduced in this tour, while the [[Lakitu]] referee in his New Year's outfit worn since the 2020 [[Winter Tour (2020)|Winter Tour]] became a playable High-End driver in the game, alongside [[Pauline|Pauline (Party Time)]] and [[Toad|Toad (Party Time)]] as the spotlight drivers for the first week. Additionally, every alternate variant of [[Mario]] (only excluding [[Mario|Mario (Musician)]] and [[Mario|Mario (Santa)]]) return as the spotlight drivers of the second week. The menu's background featured the four bouncy mushrooms from RMX Rainbow Road 2 as the landmark for this tour.

Starting from January 1, 2021, [[kadomatsu]] have been added to every course. Unlike the 2020 [[New Year's Tour]], hitting the kadomatsu does not award the player with points.

Similarly to the [[1st Anniversary Tour]], there are special bonus challenges called New Year's Challenges that award players with [[Ruby|rubies]] upon completing a challenge.
