==Gameplay==
''NES Remix'' contains sixteen [[Nintendo Entertainment System|NES]] games remixed with new challenges. Examples include beating a stage from ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' backwards as [[Luigi]], or playing ''[[Donkey Kong (game)|Donkey Kong]]'' as [[Link]]. During each stage, the player is given a certain number of hearts as "life"; if the player dies at any point in the game, they "Miss" and lose one heart. Losing all of them results in a game over. After clearing each stage, the player is given a ranking of one to three stars based upon their clear time; if the player clears in a low enough time, the three stars become rainbow stars. These stars are required to unlock the Remix levels.

The game originally featured Miiverse integration before the shutdown on November 2017, in that players could share their level clear times with other players, and make posts to Miiverse which could be viewed and liked by other players in-game. The game also incorporates stamps; after clearing each level, the player is given a certain number of Bits based upon the conditions on which they cleared the stage, and collecting a certain number of Bits unlocks a stamp that represents a character or an item of the game. 

The game also allows the player to quickly access the Nintendo eShop page for any of the games featured.
