The name '''Mr. E''' can be applied to two [[Toad (species)|Toads]] in the [[MarioWiki:Marioverse|Marioverse]], specifically a [[Dryite]] from ''[[Paper Mario]]'' and a standard Toad from ''[[Mario Party Advance]]''. It is unknown why these two characters, who are clearly different people, have the same name.

As stated above, a Toad by the name of Mr. E first appeared in ''Paper Mario''. This Mr. E was depicted as one of the few Dryites with blue clothing, and he initially seemed to be little more than a very minor non-player character. Later in the game, however, Mr. E partook in a long chain of [[Letter]]s [[Mario]] and [[Parakarry]] could optionally deliver by receiving a Letter from [[Koopook]]. Upon acquiring this Letter, Mr. E revealed that his job was to ship various things out of [[Dry Dry Desert]] into other parts of [[Mushroom Planet|the world]]; apparently, Koopook had ordered some sort of [[item]] from him. Mr. E himself continued the Letter relay by having Parakarry take a Letter of his to [[Three Beautiful Sisters|Miss T.]], who apparently did not even know him, of [[Toad Town]]. Though she did not open it, making things unclear, Miss T. theorized that this Letter expressed love, as she apparently received love Letters from people she did not know often.

As aforementioned, a different Toad by the name of Mr. E appeared in ''Mario Party Advance''. This Mr. E. was a regular Toad who had large eyebrows, wore a purple suit, and (fittingly for his name) loved unsolved mysteries. As such, Mr. E. would often appear during exciting events of ''Mario Party Advance'', though he proved himself to be quite cowardly, running away before most action began in several of the quests involving him. Despite this, though, he continued to seek mysteries throughout the course of the game, assisting characters baffled by various mysteries as if it was his job to do so. He was also very prideful and considered himself superior to the [[player]], referring to the current character as his apprentice even though he himself did little work in solving the mysteries he got players involved in. According to the game's ending credits, the Mr. E of ''Mario Party Advance'' mysteriously disappeared after that game's events, no one knowing his current whereabouts.
