'''Monopoly Gamer: ''Mario Kart''''' is the second entry of the [[Monopoly Gamer]] board game series. It was released in 2018<ref>Back of packaging</ref> by {{wp|Hasbro}}. As its title implies, this entry incorporates themes and mechanics from the ''[[Mario Kart (series)|Mario Kart]]'' series, though it incorporates many of the same mechanics from the previous entry. All of the areas on the board are taken from course names in ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'', specifically the courses introduced in this game.

==Gameplay==

The object of the game is to earn points by collecting [[Coin]]s, buying Properties, and winning Races. At the end of the game, after the final Race is over, the player with the most points wins.

===Setup===
The setup is the same as in the previous entry, except that the player also places a pile of [[Banana]] tokens.

===Turn order===
The turn order is the same as in the previous entry, except that, at the end of their turn, if the player lands on or passes GO, they should flip over the top Grand Prix card to start a Race.

===Spaces===
The layout of spaces is mostly the same from the previous entry, except with the following differences:
*The GO space prompts the player who lands on or passes it to initiate a "Race" by flipping over the top Grand Prix card on its pile.
*The properties in each "Color Set" are changed to fit with the ''Mario Kart'' theme:
**Brown: [[Mario Kart Stadium]] and [[Water Park]] (10 points each)
**Light Blue: [[Sweet Sweet Canyon]] and [[Thwomp Ruins]] (10 points each)
**Maroon: [[Mario Circuit (Mario Kart 8)|Mario Circuit]] and [[Toad Harbor]] (20 points each)
**Orange: [[Twisted Mansion]] and [[Shy Guy Falls]] (20 points each)
**Red: [[Sunshine Airport]] and [[Dolphin Shoals]] (30 points each)
**Yellow: [[Electrodrome]] and [[Mount Wario]] (30 points each)
**Green: [[Cloudtop Cruise]] and [[Switchback Hill]] (40 points each)
**Dark Blue: [[Bowser's Castle (Mario Kart 8)|Bowser's Castle]] and [[Rainbow Road (Mario Kart 8)|Rainbow Road]] (50 points each)
*The [[Warp Pipe]] spaces are replaced with [[Dash Panel|Boost Pad]] spaces. When landing on a Boost Pad space, a player rolls the numbered die and moves that many spaces, carrying out the action of the space they land on.
*The [[? Block]] spaces are replaced by [[Item Box]] spaces. However, the spaces are otherwise functionally identical, as both have the player roll the numbered die and collect that number of Coins from the Bank.

===Dice===

Like the previous entry, the game includes the traditional six-sided numbered die, as well a six-sided [[List of power-ups|Power-up]] die. In this entry, the Power-up features images of a trio of [[Coin]]s on two faces, and one face each of a [[Green Shell]], a [[Spiny Shell (blue)|Spiny Shell]], a [[Lightning|Lightning Bolt]], and a [[Banana]]. The base effects for rolling the Power-Up die are as follows:
*Spiny Shell: Choose any player to drop 3 Coins on their current space.
*Green Shell: The next player on the board (from your position) drops 3 Coins on their current space. (If more than one player is on the space, the player chooses who drops the coins).
*Lightning Bolt: All other players drop 1 Coin on their current space.
*Coins: Collect 3 Coins from the Bank.
*Banana: Move and complete the action of the space you land on, then drop a Banana token anywhere in your path.

===Bananas===
A new feature to ''Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart'' is the ability to drop Bananas on spaces they pass or land on. When rolling a Banana, the player moves and completes the action of the space they are on, then drops a Banana on any space in their path, including the space they start on. When a player reaches a space with a Banana on it, they must stop and carry out the action of that space. After they land and stop on that space, they should remove the Banana from the space and place in the Banana pile.

At any time, a space can only have one Banana on it, and there can be a total of only four Bananas on the board.

===Races===
When a player passes or lands on GO, they trigger a Race. At the end of their turn:
*The player should flip over the top Race card and place it where all other players can see it.
*If the player wants to participate in the Race and can afford to pay the roll cost, they can do so. If no-one wants to race, they should discard the Grand Prix card.
*The player should roll the numbered die before passing it to the next player. The player with the highest roll wins the Race and keeps the Grand Prix card.

All players who participated in the race receive a bonus noted on the card. The highest roller gets the 1st place prize; the second-highest roller gets the 2nd place prize; etc. If there is a tie for any position, the tied players re-roll until one player wins for that position.

In the game, there are eight Races to win, with the courses they take place on being [[classic course]]s, though written without their classic prefixes. The courses, as well as their roll costs, bonuses, and points, are listed below.

===End of game===
The game ends immediately when the final Race is over. At this point, the player with the highest score wins. If there is a tie, then the player with the most Property and Grand Prix cards wins.

To find out how much one scored, the player should add the points from their Property Cards, Grand Prix cards, and Coins. Every five Coins is worth ten points.

===2-player game===
The rules for playing a 2-player game are the same as the previous entry.

==Characters==
*The board game comes with [[Mario]], [[Princess Peach]], [[Luigi]], and [[Toad]] movers as playable Characters. Other Characters can be obtained by purchasing "Power Packs", each containing a Character mover and their respective Character card. Six Power Packs have been released for this board game; the Characters released as of 2018 are [[Bowser]], [[Shy Guy]], [[Yoshi]], [[Donkey Kong]], [[Rosalina]], and [[Metal Mario]]. The Characters, as well as their "Super Star Abilities" and "Power-up Boosts", are listed below:
