At the end of each board, Bonus Mini Stars are given to each player. Each of the Bonus Mini Stars gives the players 5 Mini Stars.

Mini Stars make a return in ''[[Mario Party: Island Tour]]'', along with [[Mini Ztar]]s. They have the same role as in ''[[Mario Party 9]]''. They only appear on [[Star-Crossed Skyway]] board and players have to collect the most to become the superstar of the board. They can be obtained by passing through Star Stages and winning minigames.

Mini Stars reappear in ''[[Mario Party 10]]'', but only in the Mario Party mode. The Mini Stars serve the same purpose as they did in ''Mario Party 9''. Like ''Mario Party 9'', if an assistance is used (5, 10 or 20 Mini Stars), these don't count towards the Party Point total, although the starting value counts towards the total. Unlike ''Mario Party 9'' though, the Party Point system is dependent and there is no compensation bonus in multiplayer if only one player ends with less than 10 Mini Stars, though 10 Party Points is the minimum amount for a board playthrough. Each of the Bonus Mini Stars gives the players 10 Mini Stars (twice the amount in ''Mario Party 9''), though only two are given.

Mini Stars return in ''[[Super Mario Party Jamboree]]'' as collectibles in the single player mode [[Super Mario Party Jamboree#Party-Planner Trek|Party-Planner Trek]]. The player earns Mini Stars by completing tasks given by various characters. Completing a four-player minigame can reward the player with 1-3  Mini Stars depending on their placement, while completing 2 vs 2, 1 vs 3, and Duel minigames will reward the player with 2 Mini Stars. A [[Lakitu]] can be found on each board; he can be spoken to and will ask the player a series of 10 questions. Each correct answer gives the player 1 Mini Star. If the player answers incorrectly, they can retry and answer the question again as many times as needed. On [[Mega Wiggler's Tree Party]], [[Roll 'em Raceway]], [[Goomba Lagoon]], [[Rainbow Galleria]], and [[King Bowser's Keep]], the player is required to collect 30 Mini Stars to clear the board and receive a souvenir from the yellow [[Toad (species)|Toad]].<ref>{{cite|url=nintendo.com/jp/switch/a7hla/trek/index.html|title=スーパー マリオパーティ ジャンボリー：パーティお手伝いの旅 |publisher=Nintendo.com|language=ja|accessdate=September 23, 2024}}</ref> After collecting at least 30 Mini Stars on a board, the Mini Stars are stolen by an enemy, which must be defeated in a Boss Minigame. There are a total of 300 Mini Stars obtainable. If the player turns motion minigames off, a maximum of 263 Mini Stars can be obtained, but the player can still have 100% progress on their file after collecting them all. After defeating [[Impostor Bowser]] in [[Bowser Crashers]], [[Kamek]] admits that he was the one trying to steal the Mini Stars because he was jealous and wanted one too. The player can then give him 1, 100, or all of their Mini Stars. He is overjoyed by this gesture and thanks the player, but explains he really wanted just one Mini Star, returning all of the Mini Stars except one if the player chose to give 100 or all of them.

 

If the player collects all of the Mini Stars on each board, they will receive the "Project Manager" achievement.
