Their use is first demonstrated in the [[Mole Mines]] by [[Croco]], who uses one in an attempt to [[flee]] from [[Mario]]. Once Croco is defeated, he drops a single Microbomb (known as '''Bambino Bomb''' in the [[Super Nintendo Entertainment System|SNES]] version), which is used to proceed further in the mines. Later, an unlimited supply is seen being thrown by [[Punchinello]] at the end of the path.
