'''Mewtroid''' is a [[minigame]] souvenir found in the Games folder in ''[[WarioWare: Twisted!]]'' and in the Minigames section in ''[[WarioWare Gold]]''. Its name is a combination of "mew," a sound typically associated with kittens, and [[metroidwiki:Metroid (series)|''Metroid'']]. It is heavily based on the Metroid series, and the background music is further based upon that series. The player controls a cat named Sameow. Sameow's name is a combination of "meow," a sound that cats make, and "[[Samus]]", the main character in the ''Metroid'' series. (Sameow was unnamed in ''WarioWare: Twisted!'') Sameow must a cannon on her arm to shoot down as many bugs as possible. Each bug defeated adds one point to the score. If Sameow touches a bug, the game ends.

Sameow moves by rolling over corresponding to the tilting of the system, and shoots lasers when {{button|gba|a}} is pressed. The lasers fly in a straight line based which way her arm cannon is facing as she rolls. Lasers pass through bugs, hurting all of them in the process. If Sameow is facing the floor, then she curls up with her cannon and cannot shoot.

Bugs enter the game from the left and right edges of the screen. There are three normal kinds of bugs. One kind flies left and right above Sameow. They start near the top of the screen and descend while reversing direction each time they hit the edge of the screen. The second kind is grounded, but jumps to approach Sameow. They can do low or high jumps, with the low jump being just high enough for Sameow to fit under and the high jump coming close to the top of the screen. The third kind is also grounded, but does not jump. It only crawls toward Sameow. These bugs make their first appearance in this order, with the crawling bugs making their first appearance after the player has 31 points. Bugs are normally defeated in one hit, changing into a shared hit graphic and falling off the screen. After 61 points are obtained, some bugs are shaded grey. Shooting them reverts them to normal bugs while pushing them back slightly.

Each time thirty bugs are defeated, a powerful bug that takes multiple hits to shoot down will appear. Normal bugs do not appear while this bug is in play, accounting for existing bugs such that once the thirtieth bug has appeared no other bugs are allowed to appear until the powerful bug has been defeated. It flies and bounces more erratically than any normal bug while trying to hit Sameow, and can shoot a small projectile equally capable of defeating her. These projectiles move in a straight line and move through the ground. Only one projectile can be on screen at a time. The bug flinches and gets pushed back a little when it is shot.

In ''WarioWare Gold'', Sameow's rolling movement is controlled via the {{button|3ds|pad}}, and has been separated from how Sameow aims. Aim defaults to directly upward and twisting the system changes the angle of Sameow's cannon. If the game does not receive input for a short time, Sameow switches into an idle animation where she naps. It resets her aim. If the player sharply rotates the system, Sameow does a rolling dash in that direction to move to an edge of the screen. She leaves afterimages while using the rolling dash. It can be interrupted with directional input. The powerful bugs still appear when the player has 30 points or 60 points, but not 90 points. Instead, a powerful bug appears when the player has 100 points, and further bugs appear on 100 point offsets from the original appearances. (i.e. 130 points, 160 points, 200 points) The projectile from the powerful bug despawns on contact with the ground

''WarioWare Gold'' features a sequel called [[Mewtroid 2: Return of Sameow]].
}}"What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my words. You think you can get away with saying shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your tongue. You didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo."

''[[WarioWare: Move It!]]'' features Sameow and the bugs in the microgame [[Finishing Blow]], where Sameow must now punch them while avoid being touched by them otherwise.
