The '''Metropolitan Tour''' was the seventy-second tour of ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'', which began on June 15, 2022 and ended on June 28, 2022. Similar to the [[2nd Anniversary Tour]] nineteen tours prior, the tour only consisted of city courses, namely the four city courses that are set in Europe ([[Tour Paris Promenade|Paris Promenade]], [[Tour London Loop|London Loop]], [[Tour Berlin Byways|Berlin Byways]], and [[Tour Amsterdam Drift|Amsterdam Drift]]), introducing Berlin Byways and Amsterdam Drift 2 (making this the first tour since the [[Hammer Bro Tour]], fifty-eight tours prior, to introduce two courses and the first tour overall to introduce more than one city-themed [[new course]]) and featuring the reappearance of Berlin Byways 2, Amsterdam Drift, Paris Promenade, Paris Promenade 2, Paris Promenade 3, London Loop 2, and London Loop 3. This tour also featured various food- and chef-themed items, including the debut of both a Pastry Chef [[Mii|Mii Racing Suit]] and a variant of [[Rosalina]] in a chef outfit. The Rosalina Mii Racing Suit introduced in the [[Mii Tour (2022)|2022 Mii Tour]] also returned as a ranked reward, making this the first tour to reuse a Mii Racing Suit as a ranked reward, and the first tour since the [[Halloween Tour (2021)|2021 Halloween Tour]] seventeen tours prior to repeat a ranked reward. This was the first tour since the [[Summer Festival Tour]], forty-seven tours prior, where new city tracks did not debut with their R/T variants.

Starting from this tour, a Metropolitan Fest event took place, which ran from this tour until the [[Bangkok Tour]]. The event includes a new set of [[List of challenge cards in Mario Kart Tour#City Course Challenges|City Course Challenges]], which rewards rubies for completing a challenge, and completing all nine challenges gives a prize of 30 rubies.

The title screen was changed in this tour to represent Team Bowser's victory over Team Peach in the [[Peach vs. Bowser Tour (May 2022)|May 2022 Peach vs. Bowser Tour]].

This was the last tour to feature the ninth set of [[List of challenge cards in Mario Kart Tour#Expert Challenges|Expert Challenges]], which started in the [[Yoshi Tour (2022)|2022 Yoshi Tour]].

This tour's [[Coin Rush (Mario Kart Tour)|Coin Rush]] course was Berlin Byways 2, which was reused from the [[Berlin Tour]]. The menu's background featured the {{wp|Fernsehturm Berlin|Berlin Television Tower}}, {{wp|Brandenburg Gate}}, and the {{wp|Berlin Cathedral}} as the landmarks of this tour, which were also reused from the aforementioned tour.

Starting from this tour, the [[Strawberry Crêpe]] glider is available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe.

On the first day of this tour, there was an error that prevented many players from playing ''Mario Kart Tour''. ==Today's Challenge==
Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in [[London Loop 2|London Loop 2T]] in the [[Mii Cup]] using the [[Mii|Cat Mii Racing Suit]] for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
