Each player is equipped with a hammer and has to smack the Mega Monty Mole when it pops out of any of the seven holes in the battlefield. Every smack awards two points, while Toad Scramble's allies' smack is worth one each. However, some explosive fakes of the Mega Monty Mole have a chance of popping up. If a player smacks it instead, they lose a point. After getting smacked a few times, the Mega Monty Mole retreats down the hole and reappears from another hole.
